As the Official Barbers for Movember 2011 we at Men International Towers get a lot of requests for all sorts of Mo Related shenanigans so when the when the guys at QMU asked us to kick off their Movember Launch on 1st November with a Shave Off tempting us with promises of cheap booze, good music and desperate students in need of facial hair removal we had to say yes…can we just say these guys were right on it…not only were they doing their shave off but they were also selling Stick on Mustaches for those Mo Sistas in attendance thus raising some cash on the night…well done guys…at the Towers we want to say a Big Thanks to Anthony and Calumn who took advantage of the cheap booze and in the process did a load of shaves… http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.257614454290200.86081.135030766548570&type=3

Men International at Capital Fm Style Station
Have you heard Galaxy radio is no more, before you shed too many tears it is very exciting as the station has Re-Branded as Capital FM and they are doing some launch events in East Kilbride Shopping Centre 8th and 9th Jan and Glasgow St Enoch Centre 15th and 16th Jan.

A MOVEMBER FAIRY TALE IN GLASGOW
LIKE ALL GREAT STORIES IT INCLUDES A VILLAIN, A GOOD GUY AND A HEROINE
DES CLARKE [GOOD GUY] GALAXY RADIO BREAKFAST SHOW HOST, NEWSPAPER COLUMNIST AND STAND UP COMEDIAN NEEDED HIS MUSTACHE SHAVED OFF BUT HE WAS WORKING ON HIS SHOW…MEN INTERNATIONAL WERE ALERTED AND OUR HEROINE MARIE GOT OUT OF BED AT 6am WALKED THROUGH THE SOUTHSIDE OF GLASGOW AFTER SHE WAS INFORMED A TAXI WOULD BE A RARE SIGHT THAT MORNING, SHE BATTLED ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS MAINLY THE SNOW [VILLAIN] SFTER BEING STRANDED ON POLLOKSHAWS ROAD ONE OF MEN INTERNATIONAL’S DIRECTORS PICKED OUR HEROINE UP WITH THE INTENTION OF WHISKING HER TO HER DESTINATION
BUT ON THE WAY TO THE STUDIO THE CAR GOT STUCK IN SNOW AT IBROX, OUR HEROINE STAYING FOCUSSED ON HER MISSION GOT OUT AND HELPED PUSH THE CAR. WHEN SHE ARRIVED AT GALAXY SHE THEN HAD TO TEACH JENNY [GALAXY BREAKFAST SHOW CO-HOST] HOW TO SHAVE DES USING AN OPEN RAZOR…MARIE THEN COMPLETED DES’ SHAVE OFF AND FOR THE 1ST TIME IN A MONTH DES WAS MO-LESS.
[GOOD GUY] DES GOT HIS MO OFF
[HEROINE] MARIE ACCOMPLISHED HER MISSION
[VILLAIN] THE SNOW DID NOT STOP OUR HAPPY ENDING
AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER [not together]

As you avid followers of our shenanigans are aware of we were working with the Scottish Sun on 28th Nov to assist in their record breaking Guinness Book of Records attempt, unfortunately the unusual Arctic conditions put an end to any thoughts of their being enough Mo Bro’s turning up as roads were colosed coaches were turned back and airports were closed..but guess what Men International made it and had a ball…the team from Decathalon were amazing [Miss Dawn store manager] was brilliant, we still set up our mini Barber’s Salon and Colette from Men International Oswald St did some mustache trims and a few photos for the Sun including one of her shaving Sun Journalist Matt Bendoris Mo off..photos will be in the movember section of our gallery…on a side note if you have seen any of the pictures in the Sun do you think Miss Scotland was cold in that skirt..we did…

Tues 19th we were at the Official Launch for Movember in Edinburgh it was a great night it was also fantastic to meet JC one of the founders of Movember and speak to him about what they have achieved since 2003.
They have raised an incredible amount of awareness for their campaign they have also raised over £60 Million which is a fanatastic achievement considering Movember started as a fun idea with a group of guys in a bar in Australia only a few years ago.
Shave Off
Mon 1st November will be a very busy day and night for everyone at Men International.
You have no doubt realised by now at Men International we like a challenge…check this out.
Along with all our daytime shenanigans at 5pm we will be doing a Shave Off at Glasgow University Union’s dining hall. The 4 Universties of Glasgow will be working together during Movember which we think is amazing…
Our Team will be doing a Shave Off with the 4 Presidents of the different University Students Unions in Glasgow…
After that we should kick back listen to some relaxing music, expand our knowledge and education read a good book since we are at the University but no it’s Men International it’s the Students it’s Movember so we will be Shaving 100 Students that night who are all taking part in Movember…we are sure there will be some interesting photos…check their facebook page
BOOM BARBERS
Our friends through in Boom Barbers Edinburgh are now working with us on the 500 Campaign….
Now we know Movember brings people together with the 4 different Universities working together and Edinburgh and Glasgow forming an alliance to get 500 guys on board for the campaign…

Music is never far away from Men International with some of our team entering into heated debates and also predicting who will break through etc so we are difinitely honoured to have someone we have known for a long time signing up to our campaign, Jim Gellatly or as we have renamed him over the years Sir Jim Gellatly for his dedication to music, particualrly new music for many years…at the towers we are sure that it was Sir Jim who was the first to play Biffy Clyro on radio..we know he has played a lot of the major bands before they broke through..

Graffiti….Not Confirmed…But Looking Good
One of the countries greatest Graffiti Artists is rumoured to be joining our 500 campaign, not sure if he will use his real name or his graffiti name, as you know at men international towers we like to take chances ,we may even encourage him to paint a MO in some unlikely place…Men International resident Graffiti specialist Anthony from Men International Oswald St tells us this guy is the Real Deal so we are really excited about this possible new addition to the campaign…
